Sakura

So this evening my sister left to Costa Rica and I miss her already. She's stopping in Amsterdam for a few days first so that she can visit a friend but yeah she's just so lucky. She definitely has earned the vacation though! Luckily enough my sister and I pre-shot some outfits so I'll be posting while she's away and you won't have to miss me ehehehehe.

As I'm writing this my boyfriend and his class are graduating high school and I could not be more proud of him. I remember it being me like it was yesterday. It's crazy how fast time goes by, it has already been a year since the day I graduated. My life hasn't been as busy as I intended since I finished but I am definitely not the same person I once used to be, sometimes I can't even recognize the girl from the past (in a good way.) I've become kinder to myself, more comfortable in my own skin and definitely more proud of who I am.

Hahah alright, so onto today's outfit. In the evening when I'm going for a casual drink with the girls or perhaps an evening beach party, I like to wear something that says effortlessly chic. I think that I captured that feeling really well in this outfit. The dressy floral top tucked into the laid-back shorts looks very relaxed but adding some clog sandals makes the outfit look more put together.

Light and love,
xx

Tropicana

So in my last post I had said we'd probably head to the mall on Sunday and so we did. My mom ended up convincing my sister to buy two pair of jeans, which is very typical of my mom. She tends to yell at you not to buy too much but when you're about to leave she keeps bringing pieces she thinks "you must try on" (oops.) I headed over to a makeup store to buy some new concealers and ended up picking up the NYX HD Photogenic Concealer and the Rimmel Hide the Blemish Corrector (if you're in the UK you can find Rimmel concealer in Boots.) I haven't tried out either yet but I think when I do I might write up a review post.

The weekend tends to be our families cheat day, where we eat junk food so my sister and mom had Taco Bell and I grabbed a vegan sandwich from Subway, for dessert as always we had froyo.

Since it was hot and I knew we'd be trying on clothes I wore something fairly simple but cute nonetheless. I paired this adorable floral skort from Zara with a plain black tank top and some black ballet pumps. I layered up some jewelry and went for a nude lip.

I just wanted to mention two albums that I've been loving over the last few months that some of you may enjoy. The first is The Water[s] by Mick Jenkins; it's a very smooth sensual rap album with very thought provoking lyrics, plus Mick Jenkins has the most beautiful deep and raspy tone in his voice. The second album is Sirens by Gorgon City; this is one of my favorite genres of music, deep house. The songs have insane beats and drops, and there's songs for every kind of mood from happy to heartbreak.

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend!
Light and love,
xx

Chambray Flowers

Hi lovelies,
How's the start to your weekend?

This weekend I don't think much will be happening, just relaxing mostly. This morning my sister and I spent time at the beach, getting our tan on. I'm definitely much more of a natural tan kinda gal over self tanning, but I do remember to protect my skin by wearing SPF and making sure to constantly reapply it. Tomorrow though I think my family and I might head to the mall because my sister needs to get a few summery items before her trip to Costa Rica next week.

My sister and her boyfriend tend to take one big trip a year to an exotic country, this year it's Costa Rica. I'm quite jealous, I've never been before and it sounds amazing. They have some incredible yoga retreats when I researched online and it would be wonderful if I'd get to go to one some day, hopefully sometime in the future haha. Have any of you been to Costa Rica? What did you think of it?

I've been missing home a lot this week, especially because it's the Grand Prix at the moment and so all of my friends have come home from university and are going to all the lovely parties. It's making me miss them and I just want to be there with them enjoying the fun. My boyfriend also graduates next week and I don't get to be there, which is probably the thing that makes me the most sad, but I am really enjoying my time in Cyprus and am making the best of the weather and time with my sister.

Alright, so for today's outfit I styled this chambray/denim floral dress. I think my favorite thing about it is the adorable lace detail on the trim and as the straps. I also really love the heart shaped neckline, which is flattering on most people and also really helps with cleavage (hehehehe.) I paired the dress with a loose cardigan and some bright blue espadrilles for a more chilled out vibe and then finished everything off with gold jewelry and an orange lip.

The way I've styled this outfit is very casual and for everyday but you can just as well swap the shoes for some cute gladiator heels and your favorite leather jacket and go to dinner or a club.

Light and love,
xx

Need Me

Hi lovelies,
It's getting extremely hot here in Cyprus, past the 30 degree mark so it means it's time for all the summer clothes to come out. Oh and a lot of time spent at the beach!

When my sister's boyfriend took my family out shopping I fell in love with these shorts in Bershka. They are this wonderful light material and come in the usual black and white but also khaki, which I really liked, but went for this muted coral color. I thought I would style them, so I paired it with this high neck striped crop top and some white minimal sandals I got from Zara last summer.

Light and love,
xx

A Casual Day

Hi petals,
I was supposed to upload this last night but I was so exhausted that I decided I would leave it until today.

Sunday was a very relaxing day. I went to the beach with my sister where it was 30 degrees and we suntanned and swam in the sea. Towards the evening we went on a walk with my dog as a family. As it was a chilled out day I wore a pretty casual outfit which was still cute and put together. I styled some of my slouchy denim shorts with a floral top and over the top I layered a khaki sweater that has holes all in the front. I then topped everything off with my new nude loafers from Zara.

Light and love,
xx
