An Office Ensemble

Hello my wonderful petals,

I am so so so sorry for the absence again. It seems it's getting harder and harder to post regularly with my internship but I'm here with a new post!
I promised in my last one that I would talk about my trip to Ayia Napa; I went with two of my really close guy friends, we headed out after 4pm, drove there, had some dinner, went for a swim in the beautiful sea and then went dancing.

The sea water in Ayia Napa is spectacular, an exquisite turquoise color and the sand is so white. The clubs there were something else, it was absolute chaos but it was very entertaining; just drunk, half-naked British people. I had so much fun dancing at the Castle Club though, my friends had to drag me out of there because I didn't want to stop.

Apart from that not too much has been happening, just hanging out with friends from work, constantly working where I am learning so much and gaining a lot of experience. I've been going to the beach a lot with my mom and my sister and have gotten a kick-ass tan!

This weekend we have a company party because our firm turns 3 years old on Saturday. That's going to be really fun, full of laughter and good vibes. I will be sure to show you guys my outfit and some photos of the night life.

Okay, so onto today's outfit.
I shot this outfit a little over a week ago; this is the usual kind of outfit I wear to work. I wanted to share an office look, to show you that you can look professional but still look stylish and cute. If you read my post "My DressLink Wishlist", DressLink ended up seeing it and sent me the items. The dress I wanted ended up being too short but my sister had the smart idea of cutting it into a t-shirt. I paired my newly created t-shirt with a black pencil skirt, my favorite pair of flats and accented everything with playful jewelry and a tropical bag.

What do you think? Is this an outfit you could see yourself wearing to work?

Light and love,
xx

Las Vegas, from Day to Night

Hello beautiful petals,
How are you all doing? Sorry again that I've been a little busy. Things have been crazy with work as usual and I've been hanging out with some newly made friends. We went to Ayia Napa this weekend for a fun night of dancing, but let's not get into that. I'll talk more about it in another post but for tonight I have something different to share.

When I found out that Vegas.com was on the hunt for the #UltimateVegasOutfit, I knew I couldn't pass it up! I went to their website and checked out some of the Las Vegas hotels and locations for dining out and for clubbing.  I ended up styling two different outfits for two separate occasions.

The first outfit would be something I'd wear to "Sushi Roku." As you could guess from the name, it is a funky sushi place. It is definitely somewhere to go if you want to try out-of-the-box sushi. For this kind of scene I would wear something cute, put together but still casual.. NOT TO MENTION, summery. I wore my crotchet blouse with my high-low tribal skirt and some gladiator sandals.

The second outfit is to a beaaaaaaautiful club called "Voodoo Rooftop Nightclub." Mysterious vibe + rooftop = perfect place for me! For this look I went for something much more 90's glam. The sparkle is very Las Vegas and can imagine the lights hitting me on the dancefloor would be the coolest thing.

Outfit details for both will be below after each photo set. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend <3
(Note: sorry for the small photos today, accidentally changed the setting on my camera again. All fixed now.)

Light and love,
xx

Summertime Sadness

Hi petals!

How was everyone's weekend? How about your Monday?

I had an interview at a Forex company for a marketing internship this morning and I got it eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek! I start tomorrow and I am so excited. I've never really been interested in finance but it's going to be something new to learn and also I'll get to find out about all the things that go into marketing. I'll post a little photo of me in front of the building that I took after I got the fantastic news.

I also received a wonderful gift from a friend in the mail today; this badass anti-stress coloring book that he created himself using math. I'm a bit of a nerd so getting stuff like this that shows how math and physics makes up all the beauty of the universe makes me so happy. On top of all of that my mom finally got her face cream she's been waiting months for, so it's just been a wonderful beginning of the week all around.

This weekend is also busy busy busy. Friday evening we have a work beach party nearby to my house and Saturday my family is headed for facials that we won at the supermarket, then in the afternoon a barbecue in Larnaca at a work colleague's house.

Oh I have a song to recommend, Treasured Soul by Michael Calfan. It really has those summer vibes, like you should just be hanging out at a beach party and the video is just as cool.

Alright alright, so for today's outfit I mixed some minimal pieces with some bohemian ones. I went for a neutral skirt and sandals but went for a funky top with the multicolored aztec print. I then chose a chunky crystal statement necklace to finish it all off. This day was particularly fun to shoot because it was windy so I played around in it and my Aunt's cats were prowling everywhere. The one you see in one of my photos is Habibi, she absolutely adoooooooooooores attention.

Well I hope you are all having a good start of the week as well.
Light and love,
xx

Oatmeal Cookie Smoothie

I have always been in love with smoothies but after converting into a full vegan from a vegetarian in May, I have fallen in love with them even more. I'm pretty much willing to experiment with them (if they taste good that is.) Today's post as you can see is a little bit different, apart from sharing what kind of food I eat when I'm out and about, I'm on occasion going to share some recipes that I like since I keep learning about different vegan dishes.

I was watching missglamarozzi (a fashion/beauty guru on youtube) and came across a healthy breakfasts and lunch recipe video; in it was this Oatmeal Cookie Smoothie. I adore oatmeal cookies so I thought I would try it. Note: Living in Europe means that I could not find all the ingredients that she listed in the video so this recipe is a little different from the original one. I always swapped ingredients depending on my preference.

For this smoothie I used my Nutribullet blender because it blends so smoothly and efficiently but you can use any kind of blender that you'd like.

For this recipe, you will need:

1 frozen banana
1 1/2 cups of vanilla rice milk (you can use vanilla almond milk too)
2 tablespoons of brown sugar (you can use agave syrup too)
A pinch of salt
A table spoon of unsweetened cocoa powder
2 tablespoons of flax seeds
2 tablespoons of oatmeal
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

This is the blender I used.

Chop up the frozen banana.

Add the rice milk!

Then you can add in the brown sugar, a pinch of salt, flax seeds, the oatmeal and just a little bit of cinnamon.

All ready for blending...

Tadaaaaaaa, all done and ready to go in your belly.

It may seem like a bit of a strange smoothie but I promise you it tastes delicious, it remains healthy for you and it fills you up because it's a well-rounded meal.
Try it out and comment what you think of it!

Light and love
xx

Sidenote: I apologize if the photos are very busy looking, I'm not the best photographer when it comes to recipes!
